Dont try this at home.

Saturday we were cleaning the garage with the power washer, and Shauntae wanted a turn. She got some dirt on her feet and decided to wash them off with the power washer. Not realizing the pressure behind it, she cut through two of her toes. Ouch!! Luckily she didn't have to have stitches.

Quote by Lucy Mack Smith

We got this quote in relief society today that I thought was really good. "We must cherish one another, watch over one another, comfort one another, and gain instruction that we may all sit down in heaven together." Lucy Mack Smith

A cute saying

We all get heavier as we get older because there's a lot more information in our heads. So I'm not fat, I'm just really intelligent and my head couldn't hold any more so it started filling up the rest of me! That's my story and I'm sticking to it! Thanks Vicky for the e-mail.

Devins mission call

For the Decons kickoff this year they all recieved mission calls. Devin was so excited to get his call. He would run out to the mailbox everyday to see if it came. When it finally came he was so excited to see where he would go. He was hoping that he would go somewhere cool like Germany since he is taking German in school. When it came he ripped it open. We told him to read it out loud. It said you have been called to the South Jordan mission. The look on his face was so funny and he said this is stupid. We told him that this is like real life. You dont always get called where you want to go. I wish I had a camera of his face it was priceless. He will be doing this for three months. He has to learn a discussion and teach it to people.

A Pay Day Sunday April 15,2009

When something special takes place I like to call it a pay day. Like when your children go on missions or get married in the temple. I had a pay day on Sunday. Devin woke up not feeling well, so he didn't feel like going to church. He asked me to take his tithing. I told him he could take it next Sunday when he was feeling better. He said no mom it has to be paid today. I was so touched to think that paying his tithing was so important to him. I dont know if very many 13 year old boys would make that a priority.

Mission Update ( 3 weeks)

Brittany says to tell everyone hi and that she is doing really good. Friday the branch president called her in and told her that the lord has called her to be the coordinating sister. (it is like a zone leader, but there is only one sister over the zone) She is grateful for the opportunity to serve the sisters. She taught the Joseph Smith story in Spanish. In two weeks she will only be talking in spanish. She said the lord is really blessing her and she is grateful for the opportunity he has allowed her to serve him and help others come unto Christ. On Saturday we got some pictures from the MTC. She looks really good she has pictures of her clicking her heels, jumping in the air and crazy pictures.

A Talk I Will Never Forget

Sunday Shauntae had the opportunity to speak with the High Counsel during Sacrament meeting. She was the first speaker. During a story that she was sharing the fire alarms went off. The lights were flashing, it was saying please evacuate, and she continued to give her talk until the bishop told her to sit down. She wasn't sure what to do. When the Stake President said it was alright to continue church she had to start over. We were laughing, because these kind of things always happen to Shauntae. Her talk ended up bringing the spirit back into the meeting, and even a few tears from the people. Good job Shauntae!

Brittany's Mission One Week Down

Brittany has been at the MTC now for one week. We got a letter from her YEA!!! She is doing good. She has learned how to pray and bare her testimony in Spanish. She has two companions, they all get along really well. Learning a language is hard but she has learned alot so far, and so much more to learn. They made her senior companion the first day she was there, which she was not ready for. She likes it and says the food their is good. She thanks everyone for their support.
