Only 6 more months!
On February 3, Brittany will only have 6 more months left of her mission. She loves her mission. She says that she has so much to do and not enough time. I want to share a funny story that she told us. "We had our baptism last Sunday and come to find out that she is scared of water. So our bishop went in the baptismal font to help with the baptism. We were looking for baptism clothes in the church but all the pants were too small for him so he put on a dress. I was laughing so hard. He looked so funny but I was grateful for his willingness to help". I laughed so hard when I read this, I hope she was able to take a picture.

Fun things on cruise
Miami Seaqauarium
We got off the boat at 8 a.m. We didn't want to sit at the airport all day so we decided to go to the Miami Seaquarium. They had a really good dolphin show and killer whale show. I would go and see this one again it was so good. We got home at one in the morning and had jet lag for a couple of days. It was so fun being with the family for a whole week. We made a lot of new memories. It was great being able to spend quality time with them. Thanks for a great vacation everyone!
Grand Turk
Grand Turk is a small beautiful island. It is really nice and clean. We were able to walk off the boat right onto the beach. We had a nice sunny relaxing day. We went snorkeling and found a lot of sand dollars that the guys would dive down to get. Devin had his sand dollars under his chair and a little kid stole them from him. He still had fun looking for them. We also were face to face with a huge baracuta. His big teeth were intimidating. Dustin would throw things at him to try and make him mad. I hurried a swam the other direction. We also saw a big sea turtle swimming around.
San Juan Puerto Rico
In San Juan Puerto Rico it finally got to 82 degrees. It looks like the sun might stay after all. For our excursion we did the original canopy tour called La Marquesa. We had a 30 minute bus ride then we walked uphill to our guides. We put on our safety gear and away we went on the zip lines. The pulleys and cables were tied in the trees about 70 feet above the forest floor. It was so green and pretty. We went on 8 zip lines total. It was a lot of fun especially after I learned how to slow down and not crash into the platform. Ha ha.
St. Thomas
At St. Thomas we went snorkeling at Coki Beach. It was beautiful here. White sand beaches and clear blue water. We saw a lot of fish snorkeling. We finally had our first day of sunshine!! Yea!! Shauntae saw a snake, Dustin and Devin saw a crab. Everyone saw a beached whale on the beach, oh it was just mom. Ha ha. Shauntae and Rochelle got stung be something maybe a jelly fish. At night we were playing cards and watching tv in our room and we learned that Haiti was hit by a 7.0 earth quake. We are only a few hundred miles from Haiti. We felt lucky to be safe on the cruise boat, at the same time we were so sad for all of those people in Haiti.
Half Moon Cay, Bahamas
When we got to Half Moon Cay it was cloudy and cold. It seemed funny walking around in a swimsuit and a jacket. We went kayaking, it was so fun!! Half way through we stopped along a beach and walked around. The kids found 4 big conch shells that they got to keep. We found a huge crab that tried to chase us, a few fish, and two stingrays swam by us. Then we enjoyed a bar-b que on the beach.
Eastern Carribbean Cruise Jan.9-16, 2010
We took the family on a cruise for their Christmas present. Everyone has been so excited it is finally here. When we arrived in Miami it was so cold! It was in the low 30's, colder than Utah. The cold weather wiped out most of the iguana population and froze all of the fruit trees. After a long day/night of traveling we were able to get onto the Carnival Liberty Cruise boat.
