Aug 19 Family Temple Night

Shauntae put together a Temple night for the family.  We attended the Jordan River Temple.  I felt bad because Shauntae put this together and then wasn't able to come with us.  We did an endowment
session and this was the first time that I have seen the last new movie letter C.  When we were all in the celestial room, I got teary eyed as I looked around and seen my children and their spouses all standing together.  I think this is a glimpse of what Heaven will be like and I love it!!

Aug 17 Davis Luau

This year it was our side of the family to be in charge of the Luau.  We held it in the park here in our neighborhood.  We rented 4 bounce houses, and had Costa Vida cater the food.  After dinner the children broke open pinatas.  Everyone had a great time and we had a great turn out.

Aug 16 Devin's Homecoming

At 7:00am Cal, Devin, and I went to the stake house to hear Devin report to the Stake Presidency and High Counsel about his mission.  I love to hear his stories.  I can't get enough of them.  Then we went to church at 9:00.  Devin  gave a great talk about his mission and shared some stories, then he bore his testimony in Tagalog.  It was awesome.   I know

missionaries are blessed with the gift of tongues.  After church all of the family came to the house and enjoyed eating with us.  Thank you everyone for all of your help with the homecoming and for always supporting us.  I love all of you!!

Aug 14 & 15

Shauntae and Spencer moved out of her house in West Valley.  We went over and helped her put her boxes and furniture into trailers.  The realtor will send them to her new house when they are ready to move in.  They are going to stay at Spencer's parents until their new house is all painted, new tile,  and new carpet is put in.  This afternoon everyone came over and we made all the food for Devin's homecoming.  We made ham and cheese sandwiches on dollar rolls, chicken salad sandwiches, fruit and veg. trays, seven layer dip, and meatballs.  The extended family is bringing salads and desserts.  Thank you everyone for all of your help.  We have the best family ever.

Aug 13, 2015 Devin's Coming Home!!

I have been anticipating this day for a long time. I haven't even been able to count down the days that Devin gets home because it makes me crazy.  The girls and grand kids came over earlier this week and we made posters to hold at the airport.  The yard is all decorated,  Now it's time to go to the airport.  When we got there, a lot of other missionary families were also waiting for missionaries from the Philippines.  I was having anxiety attacks I was so excited.  When Devin came down the escalators I started crying and I ran to him and gave him a big hug.  It is the best hug a mom can have!!  He looked really good, a bit skinny, (his suit just hung on him), but we are so glad he's back!!  We took him to the Stake Pres. to get released, ate dinner at Red Robin, and came back and listened to

Devin's stories about his mission.  We learned that two weeks ago Devin was hit by a motorcycle and he thought he broke his arm.  Luckily Devin and his arm are okay, it's just a little sore.  What a great day!!

Backyard

We have been working real hard in our backyard getting things ready for Devin to come home.  We built a pergola, did our flower beds, fixed our deck and railing, and made a fountain.  It turned out really nice.  Here's some pics.

Aug 1, 2015 Cal's First Wedding

Trent Weldon asked Cal if he would perform his marriage ceremony.  Cal was quite honored that he asked him.  They had the wedding in Norm and Kristy Weldons backyard.  Cal did a great job!!  I know he was nervous but he said all the right things and everyone was very pleased and happy.  It was beautiful.
