24th Of July

We had a great time at the cabin for the 24th of July.  Every morning the guys went fishing, I even went on the third morning.  I talked them into going at 7:00am instead of 5:00am  lol  In the afternoons Cal, Dustin, and Devin tiled above the garage.  They were able to finish everything, the hall, and two bathrooms.  They used slate which is harder to use but I like it in the cabin.  On Saturday we took Devin, Shauntae, and Spencer wake boarding.  They all did really good.  Devin even tried a 360 and almost made it all the way around.  Then we got the banana tube out and even the little kids got on it, Addie and Paisley.  They loved it!!  We had a great time and we also had great weather.  Dave and Vicky's family brought up some fireworks that we went over and watched.  It is so great to have a close family.

Devin's Home From Figi

Devin made it home safe from Figi.  What a great experience he had.  They were able to build five bathrooms for the people over there.  They had to do everything by hand, mix cement, hammer, saw, no electric tools at all.  The people treated him wonderful.  It was hard to eat the food though because the glasses were dirty and the food had ants and bugs crawling on it.  The children loved him and they loved the toys that he brought over.  He said the adults liked the toys more than the children.  He was able to do baptisms in the Suva Figi Temple.  He gave one of the villager guys a lot of his clothes because they are so poor.  They don't have any furniture to sit on, they just have a mat that they sit on all of the time.  When Devin was buying souvenirs, he bought the family that he stayed with a lot of things that they could use for their house, also for their new bathroom.  When it was time for them to return home Devin said it was really hard.  They had already grown a love for the people.  The villagers met them at their bus and they were all crying which made Devin and his group also cry.  It was such a great experience to get him ready for his mission for the Philippines.  I am so glad he was able to have this opportunity.

Test Results

I finally got my test results back and they were okay!!!  My neurologist is changing up my medication to see if that helps.  She said that my bad migraines might be causing my memory loss, so we are trying to find the right medication to help them.  I went in for my mammogram the same day and no cancer.  Just had two big cyst that the doctor had to drain.  OUCH!!  The numbing medicine did not work this time.  This will be the fourth cyst I have had drained now.  The doctor said they have to get rid of them because they can't see if you have cancer behind them  What a stressful day I am glad that it is over..

Girls Camp

I was invited to girls camp, that was held at our cabin.  We had 12 girls go so it was a perfect amount.  We left Tue. morning, when we got there we took the girls tubing down the river.  That night Cal took the girls out crawdad hunting.  It was so fun to watch them scream.  They ended up with 8 of them.  We left at 11:00pm and brought them back and cooked them.  At midnight the girls had a midnight snack of crawdads.  They really liked them.  On Wed. we went to Swim Beach and boated all day.  We ended at 7:30pm.  The girls were worn out after tubing, surfing, and wake boarding.  On Thur. we left at 5:30am to go to the Vernal Temple.  The Temple President told us that President Hinkley had the baptism font that was in the Salt Lake visitor center brought to the Vernal Temple.  It is there now being used for baptisms.  The leaders were able to be temple workers in the baptistry while the girls were doing baptisms.  It was so awesome.  On the way back we stopped at a cave called the Brush Cave.  Cal found this cave when the boys were up here, it is by Diamond Mountain.  It is the 7th biggest cave in the United States.  Inside is a really big ice sculpture that almost reaches the ceiling.  It is about 30 degrees in there.  When we got back to the cabin we played games, Cal introduced the girls to the mongoose, had Testimony meeting, and then had root beer floats. On Friday we took the girls horse back riding at Red Canyon Lodge.  They made purses out of a t-shirt while they waited their turn, they were so cute.  Then we went back and left for home.  It was such a fun girls camp the girls were so great and fun to be around.  They all said, that was the funnest girls camp that they had ever been on.  Glad to be home to catch up my sleep. lol

Crazy Week

I am so glad this week is over.  I have been having problems with memory loss.  My doctor sent me to a neurologist and she is doing some test on me.  This was the week for the test.  Monday I went in for a spinal tap.  The first two days I felt fine and the next four days I was down with the worst migraines that I have ever had.  If they didn't get better they were going to put me in the hospital and give me caffeine IVs .  Luckily by the fifth day they got better.  The doctor had me lay as flat as I could and drink water and caffeine drinks.  Then on Wed. I went to LDS Hospital and had an EEG.  I could only have four hours of sleep before midnight.  After midnight I had to stay awake until my test which was at 9:00am That was so hard.  I am just waiting now to hear the results.  Like I said I am glad this week is over.

Today is our 30th wedding anniversary!  I can't believe how fast time goes.  We celebrated our anniversary in February when we went on a cruise to Hawaii.  We went there for our honeymoon and we thought it would be fun to go back for our anniversary.  A lot of things have changed in 30 years, even the love that I have for my husband.  Somehow it keeps growing deeper every minute I spend with him.  He is such a good husband and father.  I am so lucky to have him for eternity!!  The next day on Monday, Cal surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Also a ring that we had made for Cal arrived the same day.  It was made out of elk ivory.  His dad gave it to him, it was one that his dad's brother owned.
