Babies Room

Dustin and Rochelle have been working really hard on painting and fixing up the room for the new baby. They painted the top half light pink and they put up bead board around the bottom and painted it white. They have the bed up with the bedding. Sooo cute!!!

Dustin's First Antelope

Well after chasing Gimp (that's what Dustin named his three legged antelope) around for a week he decided to after another one. Gimp was to smart for him and he knew the truck real well by now. After pouring cement all day at the cabin he hunted in the evenings. He finally nailed one. He was so excited!!! Now it's Devin's turn.

A Scary Night

Last night Shauntae and Spencer went to the Jordan River Temple to do sealings. At 9:30pm I got a phone call from the Temple. It was Shauntae. She said that Spencer went unconscious, started to seize, and then he turned blue. She had to do mouth to mouth on him. When he came to he started punching and kicking. Me, Brittany and Devin went over to the Temple. They were inside and I only had my capris on so I asked a couple if they would ask someone for me about them. A guy came out and told me to come in. I felt really out of place not being dressed up. He took me to them and I helped Shauntae get him in the car. We had the Bishop come over and give him a blessing because Cal is at the cabin doing cement. They sent him home not knowing exactly what happened they said part of it could be the heat and him being dehydrated. I am so glad Shauntae was there and knew what to do. I know that the spirit was helping her to keep her calm and to know what to do. I am so glad he is okay.

First Day Of High School

Eleven years ago I remember taking Devin to his first day of Kindergarten and how painful it was to drop him off and watch him disappear through the doors. I cried all the way home. Today Devin started his first day of High School. Where has time gone? It seems like yesterday that he was little. Instead of walking him to school a neighbor girl picked Devin and his friend, Lance up and took them to school. It was a lot less painful. The price just keeps going up to register these guys for school. Our total was $237.75. Drivers ed was $95.00 and year books were $42.75. Devin always sets his goals high. He wants to get his associate degree in High School then go on a mission. He wants to be a Dermatologist when he grows up. I want Devin to know that I so proud of him!!

Davis Luau

We had our annual Davis Luau. This has been a tradition that Cal has gone to since he was a little boy. It was a lot of fun seeing everyone again. My kids love going so they can Break open the pinatas and they always get to wear an outfit that they got for school. Wendy and Robin had it in their back yard this year. We had pulled pork sandwiches, salads, fruit, corn on the cob, and home made doughnuts. My kids are all to old to do the pinatas so my pictures are mostly people eating. I tried to get some of the Davis family but I know that I missed a lot of people. Thanks Darcie for letting me get your picture, she almost fell out of her chair avoiding the camera. Your a good sport.

Dustin's Antelope

This is the antelope that Dustin hit and was chasing all over the mountain.

The Antelope Hunt

We went up to Flaming gorge for the antelope hunt. It started on Sat. so we went looking Friday evening to see where the best place to hunt was. We seen a lot down by swim beach area so that is where we went. At seven in the morning Devin shot at a big buck. He missed but he was he was able to find his arrow. At 7:09 am Dustin took a shot at a big one also. He hit it!!! He broke his leg and the arrow was stuck in his back end. The antelope circled around a few times and then took off. We chased that crazy thing for 5 hours. It would not drop. We decided to take a break from chasing it. Devin tried at a few more nice bucks but somehow the arrow kept missing them Ha ha After lunch Dustin, Rochelle, and Devin went back out. (Me, Cal, and Brittany, had to come home and get ready for church lessons)They shot at a heard of 6 antelope but no luck. They found Dustin's antelope and it was still hobblin around. They still could not get close enough. Dustin was so sick of chasing it all over the place so they called it a night. Maybe next weekend they will have better luck. If you see a three legged antelope let Dustin know.

The slide

Ward Party

Every year we have a ward party at the park. This year they served hot dogs and hamburgers, salads, fruit, and dessert. We brought the train that Grandpa Davis made, it was a big hit with all of the kids. We also had a huge slip and slide that went down the hill. Devin and Spencer took advantage of the slide. They put dish soap all over and it makes you go faster. Spencers last run we thought he broke his finger so Shauntae took him to the insta care luckily it wasn't broke.

Getting ready for the bow hunt.

Devin and Dustin both drew out for the antelope hunt. They will be bow hunting. They got their bows out and started practicing for the hunt next week. They already have it planed how they will mount their antelopes and where they will hang them up. I just started laughing reminding them that they need to get one first. Even Brittany tried pulling the bow back, Maybe next year she can do it ha ha

Pumpkin Craft

Rochelle and I always make crafts when we are at the cabin here is our newest one. I like this one because you can use it for Halloween and Thanksgiving

Toby Four Wheeling

Toby loves to ride on the four wheeler. He will chase it down until he can get a ride.

Faming Gorge

Brittany was so excited to go fishing when she got home from her mission so we took her up the the cabin. We all got up at 5:00 am to go on our fishing trip. We went down by the pipeline to catch kokanee fish. We caught 9 fish but only kept 4. We figured out that when Dustin and Cal grab the poles they feel it to see if it a big one if it is they bring it in, if it is small they give it to one of us girls. Ha ha. It is so good to have Brittany home and to be able to hear her contagious laugh I really missed hearing her laugh while she was gone.

No More Braces!!

Devin finally got his braces off. It was one of the best days of his life, he was so excited. Now he only needs two implants and four veneers. I tell him he is going to have a million dollar smile when he is done.

Brittany's Home!!!

Brittany came home on Wed. August 3. She almost didn't make it. All of the missionaries missed there flight when they got to Georgia. She was one of the lucky ones that got a flight an hour later after pleading with the lady that works there. She told her that she would sit on the toilet or in the luggage compartment just so she could get home. It is so good to have her home and to be able to feel of her spirit. She is just glowing. When we pray for the safety of our missionaries we are really blessed to have them protected. While on her mission she was shot at. A man got off his motorcycle and came over to her and her companion. He started shooting his gun at her. She said she was calm and a bubble was placed around them. The bullets did not hit them. The man then stole her bag which she had a Book of Mormon in it. She has so many stories to share about how they were watched over and protected. Sunday was her homecoming talk and she did really good. She was nervous that she would not be able to speak English but she was blessed again and the words came out perfect. She shared some wonderful stories about teaching the people in Argentina and how there lives had changed. Then she bore her testimony in Spanish. What a wonderful thing to have your children serve a mission and to see how they have grown. I know that our Heavenly Father watches over all of us and is always there if we need him. (I put a picture of what is left of her shoe, she went through five pair of shoes while on her mission)
