May 24, 2015 Talk in church

President Maxfield gave all of the Bishops and their wife's an assignment to speak in church.  We all spoke on the same day, our topic was families.  He wanted us to use some examples about our own families to share with those in our ward.  This was the hardest talk I have ever done.  I cried every day until the day I gave my talk.  I was so worried that I would offend someone.  Every time I would write something I would throw it away thinking about someone in our ward that might be offended by it.  When I would try to write it I would get sick to my stomach and feel like I was going to throw up.  I also had bad migraines every day until it was over.  I gave my talk and people told me it was really good.  Shauntae's family, Brittany's family and Grandma and Grandpa Davis all came and supported us.  Cal gave a really good talk, but he always does.  One good thing I got a new dress for my talk.  i hope one day it will get easier for me to give talks.

Memorial Weekend

On Sat. Dustin and Cal had caught their limit fishing so they called us girls to go down to the lake and fish with them.  Rochelle and I got Addie and Kolten ready and met them at the dock.  While we were waiting for the fish to bite I told Addie let's sing a fish song.  That way the fish will start biting.  We sang 1,2,3,4,5, once I caught a fish alive over and over and over.  I told Addie let's sing some Primary songs.  She got upset and said that the fish only like fish songs and she went off and sat in the boat for a while by herself.  She came back over to me and said, Grandma, I'm over my big attitude now can we sing some Primary songs?  I was trying so hard not to laugh and I said okay.  We sang Primary songs and the fish started biting.  She stood up on her toes and started singing louder, she was so excited!!  We had a great day fishing we all got our limits.  We figured that we caught 24 and we kept 15.  Cal and I drove home Sat night so we could give talks in church and then we drove back to the cabin Sunday morning after our talks.  We had a fun weekend.

May 21, 2015 Ringworm

I was at work sitting at my computer, when I felt like I had a bite on my chest.  It started to itch like a mosquito bite.  Over the week the itching got worse and my small red bump on my skin now has spread to a big raised circle.  I looked on the internet and my rash looked like a picture from a spider bite.  I really thought I got bit by a spider so I went to the insta care and they told me that I have ring worm.  I thought the Dr. was kidding.  I have no idea how I got ring worm.  I have to use lanolin cream for ten days to get rid of it.  It doesn't hurt, but I have never had something that itches so bad.  I cant put anything on it for the itching because that makes it worse.  I think I get all of the weird things that you can get.  Amber Pilcher told me that I look like iron man ha ha

May 10 Mothers Day

I had a wonderful Mothers Day.  Cal cancelled all of his church meetings so that he could stay home with me.  When I went to relief society Cal had set it up so that there was no lesson and all of the sisters could sit and visit.  We had a buffet of food that was prepared by Bob Price.  We had meatballs, cheeses, fruits, strawberries dipped in chocolate, little cakes, and punch it was a hit.  All of the sisters loved it.  Then all of my children and grandchildren came over for dinner.  We had ribs, twice baked potatoes, baked beans, salads, rolls, mint brownies and cookies.  They gave me some really cute candy jars that they had made full of candy.  Cal bought me some beautiful flowers for my front porch.  That evening Devin was able to skype from the Philippines.  He is doing really good.  He has lost a lot of weight.  He told us that he weighs 150 pounds now.  He looks good and he is happy.  He is working with 35 investigators right now.  The day before he just had a baptism and has another one set up for May 30.  He has been in this area for 6 months.  He will probably leave the area on next transfers.  He was amazed at how big the kids have gotten.  He has such a strong testimony and loves his mission.  It was hard for me to hold back my tears.  As a mom you have all of these emotions happening all at the same time when you talk to your missionary it is hard to explain.  Missionary moms know what I mean.  I cant say it enough how grateful that I am for my family.  I am so blessed to be a wife, mom, and grandma.  I love you all so much!!!!

May 7, 2015 My Birthday

Today is my 52nd birthday.  I always have a hard time remembering how old I am.  I tell my kids if you figure it out don't tell me ha ha.  I went to work today at the dental office.  After work Cal and I met all of the family at Red Robin for dinner.  It was so fun.  The kids surprised me with a ABC Book that they made.  I love those books because you have them forever.  They also gave me a really nice recipe book.  Now I can organize my recipes.  Cal got me a new laptop and some clothes.  He always spoils me.  My favorite thing is just spending time with my family.  I can never get enough of that.  I want to be around them all of the time.  Thank you everyone for everything you do for me and for making my birthday special.  I am so grateful that families are forever.

May 6, 2015 The Assistant

Today at work I  was the assistant since Julie was on vacation.  I was really nervous.  I have helped assist before but never done everything myself.  Julie had my first two rooms set up which helped so much.  I learned so much that day.  Everything went really well.  I was surprised.  I was able to keep up with cleaning the rooms and instruments as well as setting up the rooms for the next patients.  I love going to work I learn new things every day.  The next day I was able to help the assistant set up her rooms because I had learned new things.  Dr. Winder is very patient and a great teacher.

April A Day At Work

One day at work Cheri made me two cd's with church music on them, so that I could listen to them in the car.  At lunch I made her a thank you card.  I thanked her for making the cd's.  I also thanked her for training me at work and  for all of the time that she has spent.  I told her I know that it hasn't been easy.  I also told her that I was blessed to have her as my friend.  I put the card by her computer and she found it when she got back from lunch.  She read it and her eyes swelled up with tears.  She apologized for the way that she had been treating me and said that she is trying to be a better person.  Then she told me that she doesn't have any friends.  I told her that I was her friend and I gave her a big hug.  It was such a tender moment.  On the way home I started to cry wondering when was the last time someone has given her a hug.  Since then she has been nice to me everyday at work.
